Tourism and Hospitality are among the fastest growing industries in the global service sector and offer a rich variety of career choices, suited to people who have good communication skills, like to work as part of a team, and enjoy working in a dynamic yet challenging environment.

This course has been designed to provide a deep understanding of the major issues of Tourism and Hospitality and to reflect the new priorities, opportunities, and business strategies of these rapidly changing industries. The course will explore the tourism industry from every angle.

We will discuss the role of the industry in the larger society to the leadership and management of tourism organizations. We will analyze marketing concepts and strategies, and delve into tourism planning and product development. Emphasis and priority will be given to the Croatian and Mediterranean Reality and students will have the opportunity to consult and discuss with industry experts.

 

Course Description

ImageIna Rodin, MSc Ina Rodin has been a visiting professor at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management since 2010. She teaches an elective course "Tourism and Hospitality Management". Ina earned her MSc Degree in Economics and Tourism at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. She graduated at the Zagreb Faculty of Economics with a major in tourism. Earlier she was employed by Valamar Hotels and Resorts, the leading Croatian hotel management company, and was involved in hotel operations for 40 properties and product development / investment project management. She had similar duties and responsibilities during her employment in Bernardin Hotels in Slovenia. Joining Horwath team recently she specializes in the areas of hotel and resort planning and development as well as destination master planning and providing hotel management advisory services. Ina Rodin is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI, Washington DC, USA). She likes to spend her free time travelling and hanging out with friends, visiting concerts and going in for sport.
